We look at 20 new Among Us tips and tricks with which you will be a better player and win more often against your friends. We will show you, for example, how you can practice the role of the impostor more often. How you as a crewmate can complete tasks faster and more efficiently and how you can recognize useful hidden hints.
If you are at a point in the Reactor Task no longer sure what the key sequence is, then close the task and reopen it. You continue at the point where you came to, and the key sequence is displayed again from the beginning. You can finish the task without errors and don’t have to start all over again, saving a lot of valuable time.
The direction a player is looking for can be a valuable indication of what the player was doing in the room. For example, the MedBay Room tasks are on the right side, so if a player who has done a task runs out of the room, he looks to the left. A player who comes out of the ventilation shaft in the MedBay Room and leaves the room, on the other hand, looks to the right in the other direction. You should suspect this player. This is not 100% proof, but it is a good indication, and you should keep an eye on the player. It’s similar in Electrical. If someone is standing by the download task, then looking to the right is suspicious. Usually, when you come into the room and walk to this task, you look to the left.
Some players are better detectives than others and are more active in the discussion group. As an impostor, focus on precisely these players first. Try to eliminate them first, of course only if you manage to do so without being noticed. By taking out the most talkative players first, you weaken the team the most.
Here’s another tip on how to find an impostor. If you observe a ventilation shaft opening, then quickly look in the corresponding room to see who it was. Or if you are in the Security Room and see the ventilation shaft in the Medbay Room as it opens, then quickly look at the cameras coming out of the Medbay Room.
Whenever you want to do a visual task, wait a moment to see if someone can come over and watch you. You prove to the person that you are not an impostor, and later in the meeting, the person can expel you as a suspect.
As a crewmate, try to be out in groups as often as possible and don’t separate yourself far from the others if you don’t have to. Because if you are traveling alone, you have a significantly higher risk of being eliminated by the impostor. Try to do tasks that are far away from the group later if other people walk there too. With this strategy, you also protect the lives of the other crewmates.
If someone does the upload task immediately after starting a game, then they fake it because the download task has to be done first. There are five rooms with the download task: Cafeteria, Weapon, Navigation, Communication, and Electrical. The upload task is only available in one room, namely in the admin room.
As a crewmate, you have to complete tasks quickly and efficiently, so here are a few tips and tricks on how to complete your tasks faster. As soon as the message “Task completed” appears for a task, you can manually tap the “X” in the upper left corner to quit the task more quickly and continue playing. With the Inspect Sample Task in the Medbay Room, you don’t have to wait for the animation to finish filling the test tubes. To save time, you can close the window after pressing the green button and continue playing.
For the Empty Trash task, quickly pull the switch before the leaves fall to the ground, so you can get the job done faster.
The easiest way to do the card swipe task is as follows: swipe quickly until just over half the way, wait there briefly and then finish the swipe.
For the steering task in the Navigation Room, you can tap the destination instead of dragging the lines. This will also allow you to complete this task faster.
To make the Shields task faster, tap in the middle between the hexagons. This will select them all at once.
Another tip for the task in Shields. You don’t have to stand in the corner to do this task, and you can do it more in the middle of the room. It is safer here than in the corner because it is riskier for an impostor to kill you where other crewmates can quickly find the body.
You can familiarize yourself with all the cards in the Freeplay mode, which is essential later when things get serious. Player can also activate all possible tasks here on the laptop to practice completing specific tasks. You can also change your role to the impostor here and test and learn about the sabotage and all the corridors of the ventilation shafts. Since you rarely become an Impostor in online games, the Freeplay mode and the ability to be an Impostor at any time is a precious exercise.
If you are an impostor and see that the taskbar is almost full, then do the sabotage in the communications room. As a result, the crewmates no longer see the tasks, and tasks are no longer displayed on the map until they have repaired the sabotage. As a result of this sabotage, the cameras and the admin map no longer work.
Suppose you want to go from the Electrical Room to the Security Room through the ventilation shaft. Then you cannot see whether there are other players in the security room who can watch you and identify you as an impostor. Here’s a trick to check beforehand if a player is in the security room. Before you leave the ventilation shaft in the Security Room, venture back and forth between the Security Room and Medbay Room, and you can briefly see whether there are players in the Security Room. If that is the case, then wait until they leave the room and only then leave the ventilation shaft.
Among Us, there are common tasks that each crewmate has to do. So if you as a crewmate do not have the Card Swipe Task in the Admin Room, then none of the other players have it either. So if there is a player standing there for a moment, it is probably the impostor who faked the card swipe task.
Impostors always try to kill crewmates in secret, if possible, in the corner of a room. As a crewmate, you should always take a quick look at the passing rooms on your way from A to B. Unless, of course, you’re in a great hurry. If you briefly check the rooms on the side, you will find a body more often.
Here is a trick how you can cleverly use sabotage and ventilation shafts in combination as an impostor. If there are three crewmates in a room, switch off the lights via sabotage and then use an air duct in the room with the three people. Kill a player and quickly exit the room through the ventilation shaft. As soon as one of the two remaining players discovers the body, he will blame the other player for not seeing anyone else in the room.
As an impostor, you can hide the body. When you’ve taken someone down, you can quickly stand right over the corpse to prevent passing players from discovering it.
